    The Young Queens Self-Esteem and Empowerment Workshop began in 2018 when Ms. Dixon felt there was a need to affirm and empower the black girls at Longwood Elementary. The program's mission is to learn self-love, hair appreciation, and perusing your passion. Each workshop provides opportunities for students to practice affirmations, learn about black history and culture, love and appreciate different hair types and textures, and hear from black female professionals.
